[hackability] 10 random things I can do with my n900

- If a program has not been ported, I can build it myself
- I can use the command line, be root and connect to the device through ssh
- I can run Firefox, browse the tabs currently opened in my Firefox Desktop (Weave FTW) and install extensions
- I can create my own XulRunner application
- I can plug the n900 to a TV or a video projector and use Fennec on a huge screen (You can't image how awesome it is)
- You can call me through SIP, Skype or GSM, I won't see the difference (Chris dialed my official Mozilla number (SIP) yesterday, I received it on my n900, like a normal GSM call)
- I can have several browsers (Webkit: Midori, Tear; Gecko: MicroB, Firefox; Text: Lynx ⇐ vital)
- I can use Vim \o/
- I can export my Display through X11 (DISPLAY=desktop:2) or through VNC
- I can fix a bug and read the source code (I can hack my phone like I do with my Desktop Linux)
For example, I've build an ARM version of oggfwd and then i'm able to stream the n900 camera to an icecast server.
And you know what? It's legal! /me is looking at you, iPhone users :)

Yeah, and us, we just damn want to kill you ;) .
You can't have a dinosaur
I've wanted a SmartPhone I could use VIM with for years. I used to have a win phone, and now I have a blackberry, but neither have an escape key. What do you do for escape on the n900?
@Topher Under the terminal, there is a couple of meta keys, like escape.
your excitement just screams out of this post
My personal favourite is the full Python stack. (I've been able to throw some of my own utils on there without changing a line of code --- yay!)
They should have called it the N42
Too bad they aren't more geeks for Nokia to make it aprofitable business :-)
